If you love Thai green curry but can’t always leg it to Bangkok to fix your craving, then the version here is worth a try.

Thick, creamy and aromatic with a mild spiciness, the ‘lemak’ curry here is just delectable and most importantly, it is not too oily.

To enjoy, simply spoon copious amounts of gravy over a plate of plain rice and dig in. It’s so good you might even forget there’s the bonus of meat in there — generous cubes of chicken or beef slices along with Thai eggpplant and radish.

I can’t vouch if standards are the same at Jai Thai’s other branches, but the one at Clover Way is consistently good in the many years that I have patronised the restaurant.

For a better deal, go during lunch, where you can get a set at $7.80 that comes with a drink and small dessert.

I’d also recommend their mango sticky rice ($6.50) – the rice was soft with just the right amount of sweetness, which went well with the salty notes from the coconut milk. Most importantly, the mango was sweet as well. They sprinkle the dessert with fried mung beans instead of the sesame seed substitute usually found here.
