Comic-Con 2017: New 'Thor: Ragnarok' trailer breakdown, blow by blow – CNET

Looks like the Hulk has a day job battling opponents in an arena setting. Hopefully he’ll go easy on Thor. (After all, they’re friends from work.)

Thor and Dr. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) take a look at the chaos outside. 

Bruce is wearing a Duran Duran record cover T-shirt. We hope he actually attended the concert to get it.

Cate Blanchett as the evil Hela — goddess of death and ruler of Hel. Skurge the Executioner (played by Karl Urban) stands behind her.

A Valkyrie warrior flies through the air on her pegasus, with her sword drawn for battle. Traditionally, Valkyries guide dead warriors to Valhalla.

Hela throws her sword at the incoming warrior goddesses. 

Valkyrie warriors versus Hela is bound to be a battle worthy of a big screen. 

Banner and Thor discuss who actually won in the gladiator fight. While Thor takes the credit, Banner isn’t so sure the Hulk would lose. 

In this stunning scene, it’s the winged warriors against Hela. This could be a flashback scene to explain why the character known as Valkyrie choses to align herself with Thor later on.

Hela and Skurge the Executioner are double trouble for Thor and his friends.

When Thor and the Hulk team up to battle against evil, it’s moments like these that make it seem extra special. 

The Valkyrie is played by Tessa Thompson, also called Brunnhilde, the leader of all valkyries.

No Thor movie is the same without his meddling half-brother Loki, god of mischief, played by Tom Hiddleston.

When Loki and Thor finally agree on something, their common enemy better watch out.

A giant wolf — most likely Fenris — is one of many adversaries for the Hulk in this movie. Fenris is prophesied to kill Odin during Ragnarok. (Of course, since Loki disguised himself as Odin and took his throne at the end of “Thor: The Dark World,” that might be complicated…)

When confronted by Fenris about to attack, the Hulk releases his own intimidating roar. 

Jeff Goldblum plays the Grandmaster who rules over Sakar and puts together fighting games. He’s the brother of the sinister Collector, played by Benicio Del Toro in previous MCU films and the upcoming “Avengers: Infinity War.” (CNET’s Roger Cheng saw unreleased footage at Comic-Con 2017: here’s his reaction.)

Korg is an ally of Hulk’s and very useful in a battle. 

When he’s not hulking out, Banner makes for a handy pilot. 

The Goddess of Death sure knows how to get Thor’s attention.

Hulk, Thor, Valkyrie and Loki are formidable foes for Hela and Skurge.

Never forget that Thor is a god.
